Minnetonka George Soukup Scholoarship


George Soukup coached football at the Varsity and Sophomore levels at Minnetonka for 42 years. In 2003, George was awarded the Butch Nash Award which is given annually to the top assistant coaches in Minnesota by the Minnesota High School Football Coaches Association. The Butch Nash Award recognizes assistant coaches in Minnesota for their loyalty, coaching competency, integrity, and rapport with their players.

The George Soukup Scholarship is given in his honor annually to senior football players who exemplify the characteristics of Coach Soukup - dedication, unselfishness, and commitment.

Each year, the Minnetonka Varsity Football Staff selects seniors who were not starters but contributed their talent and enthusiasm for the game of football in practice and on special teams. Players are given the George Soukup Scholarship at the annual awards banquet held at the end of the season. The following players have been honored with the George Soukup Scholarship:
