Strength and Conditioning Lettering Requirements
Student must attend 80% of scheduled workouts
Student must be 9th grade or older to letter
Each student must complete one of the following:
- Read and summarize 3 strength and conditioning articles found in Coach and Athletic Director (each summary must be typed and a half page in length)
- Attend a strength and conditioning clinic
- Interview a strength and conditioning professional (Dave Stanke, Lakeville North; Mike Rademacher, Milaca High School; Reed Boltmann, Edina High School; Steve Ritz, Fitness First; Brian Bergstrom, Crown College; Scott Savor, University of Detroit-Mercy; Luke Carlson, Discover Strength; Jason Bryan, Pagel Center)
Student must train with a high level of intensity (demonstrated by performing each set to the point of momentary muscle failure)
Student must use perfect form on each exercise (demonstrated by performing slow and controlled reps with the correct body position)
Student must be an excellent training partner (spot, count, correct form, etc.)
Student may letter only once per year
Any student that violates MSHSL eligibility requirements will not be able to earn a letter
Fall season: Wednesday, Sept. 8 - Friday, Nov. 18
Winter season: Monday, Nov. 28 - Wednesday, March 1
Spring season: Monday, March 13 - Friday, June 2
