Matt Wiitala
Matt Wiitala is in his fourth year coaching at Minnetonka. He will be the Sophomore Head Coach for the first time, coordinating the defense for his third year and coaching the linebackers. He is a Hallway Para in the high school during the school year. Matt is a 2005 University of Minnesota-Duluth graduate. He played two years at Mesabi Community College and three years at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Matt works with students in the strength and conditioning program in the summer as well as the youth and varsity football camps. Matt resides in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
Careino Gurley 
Coach Careino Gurley begins his first season at Minnetonka as the sophomore wide receivers coach. Coach Gurley has been a youth coach for the past 10 years. He developed The Bethune Bears Youth Sports Programs and the Minneapolis Grizzlies Sports Association. Coach Gurley is a former player of Head Coach Dave Nelson at Blaine. Coach Gurley graduated high school in 1997 and attended RidgeWater Community and Technical College in Willmar, MN. He played football for the RidgeWater Warriors. After graduating with an A.A. degree in Liberal Arts, coach went on to attend Minnesota State Mankato. He earned a bachelors degree in Social Work. Coach Gurley has done a variety of work with youth. His family consists of his fiancee Felicia, Sons; Terrick, Careino Jr., and Carvon.
Joe Waalk 
Joseph Waalk enters his first season at Minnetonka and will coach the Sophomore Defensive Backs. Before coming to Minnetonka he was the Defensive Backs coach at Augsburg College. Waalk has also coached at the Concordia University, South High School and is currently a Baseball coach at Breck High School. Joseph received his BA in Kinesiology from Concordia University, where he was a four year starter earning All-Conference honors in three of those years, including All-American honors his Senior year. He is a E.A. at South High School in Minneapolis and is currently working on has Master in Special Education. Joseph and his wife Rachel have two daughters, Kati (9) and Megan (3) and they live in Plymouth.
Gary Radziej
Gary Radziej will be working with the Sophomore team as the Offensive Line Coach. Gary is a 1979 graduate of Minnetonka High School. He has been involved in coaching football since 1983, coaching with Minnetonka Youth Football, Mound-Westonka Youth Football, and the MHS sophomore and varsity teams. Gary played football at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Gary is a local business owner. His three children are, Eric, Brooke and Joshua. After working the summer with Coach Nelson and the rest of the staff, Gary says he has learned a lot more about the game and is excited about the future of the program.
Tim Schellhammer 
Tim Schellhammer enters his fourth year as a defensive line coach and third year as a special teams coordinator. He is working within the math department at Minnetonka High School. Prior to Minnetonka, Coach Schellhammer graduated from Chatfield High School in Chatfield, MN, while playing for Ken Jacobson. Following high school, he attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD, while playing for John Austin and Ed Meierkort and earning All-American accolades. Coach Schellhammer's family includes his father David, mother Kathy, brother Dan, and sister-in-law Megan.
Jason Bell
Jason Bell will be working with the Sophomore Team as the Offensive Line Coach. This is Jason's fifth year as a football coach, and fourth with the Skippers. Jason is a graduate of Columbia Heights High School where he was a 4-year letter winner and co-captain. Jason played football at Hamline University where he again was a four-year letter winner while earning degrees in Anthropology and Social Studies with a Licensure in Education. Currently, Jason teaches Social Studies at Minnetonka High School. Jason and his wife Jamie live in Shakopee, MN
Ben Wetzell 
Ben Wetzell enters his first season coaching for Minnetonka. Ben will be working with the sophomore RB’s and QB’s. He is a 2007 graduate from Bethel University where he quarterbacked the Royals for 4 seasons. He is currently employed at Cargill, Inc in Wayzata. He and his wife Amanda reside in Prior Lake.
