Sophomore Coaches

Bryan Dammann - 17th Year at MHS

Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator, Inside Linebackers

Alma Mater(s):  Gustavus Adolphus College, Mayer Lutheran High School

Bryan Dammann enters his 17th season at Minnetonka. Coach Dammann serves as the sophomore head coach this season. Bryan has coached previously at Brooklyn Center High School serving as an assistant for two years and as head coach for three years. He was also a junior high coach in St. Clair, Minnesota for two years. Bryan is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and is a math teacher at Minnetonka High School.  Bryan and his wife Echo have four children; Isaiah, Evelyn, Ariel and Duke. They currently reside in Minneapolis.


Jason Bell - 13th Year at MHS

Offensive Line

Alma Mater(s): Columbia Heights High School, Hamline University, Saint Mary’s University

This is Jason's 13th year with the Skippers. He is a graduate of Columbia Heights High School, where he was a four-year letter winner and co-captain. Jason played football at Hamline University, where he again was a four-year letter winner while earning degrees in Anthropology and Social Studies with a Licensure in Education; he obtained a Masters in Education from Saint Mary’s University in 2013. Jason teaches Social Studies at Minnetonka High School. Jason and his wife Jamie live in Shakopee with their son, Jacob

Mike Isola – 6th Year at MHS

Running Backs

Alma Mater(s): William Fremd High School, Illinois, University of Minnesota Augsburg University

Mike Isola is in his 6th year with the Minnetonka football family and will coach the running backs, full backs and tight ends.  Mike spent his high school career in the Chicago-land area playing both tight end and wide receiver at William Fremd High School, earning two varsity letters. After graduating in 2010, Mike spent two years at Northern Illinois University and then transferred for the 2012- 2013 academic year to the great state of Minnesota where he earned a math degree with an education emphasis.  Mike earned his 5-12 Mathematics Teaching License from Augsburg University.  Mike and his wife Alyssa currently reside in Minneapolis.

Brennan Dickensen – 4th Year at MHS

Special Teams Coordinator, Defensive Backs

Alma Mater(s): Augusta High School (Wisconsin), Minnesota State University Mankato

Coach Dickinsen is entering his 4th year on the sophomore staff and coaches the secondary and special teams coordinator. He was the defensive coordinator at Mankato East Middle School for one season, and offensive coordinator for the freshmen and defensive assistant for the sophomore team at Bloomington Kennedy for two seasons before coming to Minnetonka.

Brennan graduated from Minnesota State University Mankato in 2012 with a degree in Elementary Education. He also played basketball at the University of Minnesota-Crookston from 2007-09 and was a linebacker at Minnesota State University Mankato from 2009-11. Brennan, his wife Mandi, son Dominic and future son to be born in June reside in Shakopee.  He currently teaches 4th grade at Deephaven Elementary.

Thomas Norton – 3rd Year at MHS

Outside Linebackers

Alma Mater(s): Minnetonka High School, St. John's University

Thomas Norton enters his 3rd year of coaching football at Minnetonka High School, coaching the outside linebackers. He is a 1986 Minnetonka High School grad and played football at St. John's University in Collegeville. Thomas received a degree in Economics with a minor in Government Studies at St. John's. Thomas is married to wife Lisa and has two kids – Nikhil (17) and Neena (16) – who attend Minnetonka High School.

Joe Carlson – 2nd Year at MHS

Wide Receivers

Alma Mater(s): Thomas Jefferson High School, Bethel University

Joe Carlson enters his 2nd season at Minnetonka. Coach Carlson serves as the wide receivers coach on the sophomore team. Joe is a graduate of Bethel University, where he played football and graduated with a degree in Math Education. He is a Math teacher at Minnetonka High School and resides in St. Louis Park.

John Croyle - 13 Years at MHS

Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks

Alma Mater(s): Wayzata High School, Bethel University

Coach Croyle enters his 13th year of coaching at Minnetonka, this year he returns to the sophomore staff as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He spent the last two years as the varsity offensive coordinator. Prior to the 2016 season, he spent four years as the sophomore head coach, 5 years as the varsity wide receivers coach, and one season coaching the varsity safeties.

Coach Croyle is a 2006 graduate of Bethel University with a BA degree in History and Social Studies Education. John was a three-year starter as a wide receiver at Bethel under Steve Johnson and earned All-MIAC honors there.

John is a Social Studies teacher at Minnetonka High School. He and his wife Mikaela have four daughters, Vienna (7), Laken (5), Noa (4), Farrah (5 mo) and one son, Rafe (2). They reside in Waconia.

Brad Eby - 7th Year at MHS

Defensive Line

Alma Mater(s): Spooner High School, University of Wisconsin Stout

Coach Eby is beginning his 18th year as a football coach;  his 7th year at Minnetonka.  Coach Eby is a Technology Education teacher at Minnetonka High School.  Prior to coaching at Minnetonka, Brad was a Sophomore head coach and later the varsity offensive line coach.  Brad lives in Farmington with his wife and two sons.   A running back and linebacker for the Skippers prior to graduation in 2009, Coach Eby continued his education and football career at Winona State University, graduating with a degree in Physical Education.
